Marckel, an assistant principal at Southwest Elementary, named new principal at Moore Magnet

Dr. Justin Marckel
The WS/FCS Board of Education has named Dr. Justin Marckel as the new principal of Moore Magnet School. Marckel had most recently been an assistant principal at Southwest Elementary.
Marckel began his career in education as a teacher at Hanes Middle School in WS/FCS.
He served as an assistant principal at Cornatzer Elementary School in Davie County before returning to WS/FCS, where he served as assistant principal at Philo-Hill Middle School before moving to Southwest Elementary.
Dr. Marckel is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He earned his master’s degree in education leadership from Gardner-Webb University and his doctorate in education leadership from High Point University.
Marckel will begin his new role on July 1.
