Titans’ basketball teams head into postseason

The West Forsyth boys and girls basketball teams both played in the Central Piedmont 4A Conference Tournament this week in advance of state tournament brackets being released on Saturday.
The No. 6 West Forsyth girls upset No. 3 East Forsyth 47-33 Monday night in the first round of the Central Piedmont 4A Conference Tournament.
The Titans played against No. 2 Reynolds in the semifinals on Tuesday night. The girls’ path to the the state tournament was a little more muddled heading into the conference tournament, but winning the tournament would give them a bid to the state tournament.
The No. 2 seed West Forsyth boys were upset 67-64 at home by No. 7. Reynolds in their first round game Monday. The boys had already qualified for a state tournament bid based on finishing second during the regular season in the CPC.
