The Shallow Ford Foundation is sponsoring an outdoor music event as part of the Bingham Arts Series at The Dock at Historic Broyhill on Oct. 8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The featured band is NOTA (None of the Above), a 5-member band that has been performing throughout the Triad for more than 25 years. In performing together for so many years, they have developed a unique sound that includes elements and material from various styles, including bluegrass, Americana, alternative country, folk, rock and their own original material.
NOTA’s musical style maintains traditional roots while drawing on each member’s interpretation and contribution to arrangements. Ultimately, this produces a sound that gives meaning to their name: None of the Above. NOTA members are:
- Tim Sands, vocals and guitar
- Jon Cornatzer, vocals and banjo
- Lee Cecil, dobro
- Jason Bodenhamer, vocals and mandolin
- Tim Harrison, vocals and bass
Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair and other items needed for outdoor comfort (sunglasses, bug spray). Limited parking is available on the Historic Broyhill campus.
Carpooling is encouraged. Abbott’s Frozen Custard truck will be on site with treats and beverages for sale. If it rains, the event will be moved inside the building to the Magnolia Room, which will have chairs set up and limited seating on a first-come, first-seated base.
