Melvin T. Schroyer Sr.

The family is sad to announce the passing of Melvin T. Schroyer Sr., 84, of Winston-Salem.

Mel passed away Sept. 30, 2023, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna. He loved his community and had a large impact on West Forsyth High football for over 30 years.

He was a Little League coach and also loved NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his son Tommy Schroyer (Denise); granddaughter Candice Harris (Matt), and their daughters, Britney, McKenzie, Sophia and Lacey Harris; and great-grandsons Brandon and Kevin Dalton. He is also survived by brother Johnny and sisters Barbara and Paula. The memorial will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2023,  at Clemmons First Baptist Family Life Center.

• Janet Ellen Cook Craver, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, and is in the more immediate presence of our Lord and Savior.

• Bernice Goforth Lemons, 96, passed away Oct. 7, 2023.

• Dr. Kenneth “Ken” Edward Peacock, 75, of Bermuda Run passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at his home.

• Mr. Garry Dean Norman, 74, of Lewisville passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2023.

• Mrs. Pattie Elizabeth Luper Boone, 78, of Clemmons passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at Clemmons Medical Center.

• Mr. John Sheridan Brannan, 83, passed away Sept. 29, 2023.

• Huxley “Hux” Michael Arrington, 16 months old, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sept. 27, 2023.

• Francis Theodore “Ted” Elliot III, 75, passed away on Sept. 20, 2023.

• Elizabeth “Betty” Pearson MacIntosh Hastings, 95, left this Earth to join her precious Savior Jesus on Oct. 7, 2023.
