CLEMMONS — A Clemmons woman is facing charges of providing childcare without a license.
According to a press release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany Danielle Clark, 35, was charged earlier this month amid an investigation into an illegal childcare facility in Clemmons.
On Jan. 25, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office investigators began looking into The Nest located at 6012 Stone Bluff Dr. in Clemmons.
The facility had originally received a warning to cease operation from the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education, a division of the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services, in September of 2022 when it was determined the facility was operating as an unlicensed facility within the State of North Carolina.
On Feb. 1, through collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education, sheriff’s office investigators discovered “The Nest” was still in operation and had not shut down, even after receiving the warning to cease operation as an unlicensed childcare facility. Sheriff’s office investigators and the N.C. Department of Child Development and Early Education are still investigating the facility for any further violations.
