WS/FCS announces new district leader

WINSTON-SALEM — The question of who would replace Brent Campbell as the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools chief communication officer was answered in a Tuesday morning announcement.
Amanda Lehmert was approved by the WS/FCS Board of Education to take over the communications office. According to the announcement, Lehmert is a communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in public relations and journalism.
She most recently served as a senior communications specialist for the city of Greensboro, where she provided communications and marketing support for five departments and two offices since 2016.
She graduated from Emerson College with a bachelor’s of science degree in print journalism. She was an award-winning journalist who worked for daily newspapers in North Carolina, Massachusetts and Connecticut for 12 years.
Lehmert begins her new role on Aug. 8.
