CLEMMONS — The Shallow Ford Foundation just announced its second year of the Bingham Arts Series, thanks to the success of its inaugural year. Four exciting events are planned for 2024-2025.

To kick off this year’s series, come out to The Dock at Historic Broyhill in Clemmons on Sept. 29 from 3-4:30 p.m. for a trip down music’s memory lane featuring the Fabulous Flashbacks with everyone’s favorite tunes from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. The Fabulous Flashbacks are a talented, fun-loving, five-piece band that has delighted audiences in the Piedmont Triad area with nostalgic tunes for more than 10 years. Their energetic spirits and love for music is evident in every performance, creating a lively atmosphere that will make you want to dance and sing along. The Dock at Historic Broyhill is an outdoor, converted loading dock behind the building. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and other items normally needed for an outdoor concert (bug spray, sunglasses, hat). Abbott’s Frozen Custard truck will be on-site with sweet treats available for sale.

Following the September concert, a Christmas concert featuring local bands sharing their favorite Christmas carols is scheduled for Dec. 8.

Looking to next year, a juried art show and sale in partnership with the Muddy River Art Association is planned for March 16, 2025. The schedule will wrap up with a performance by Danny Green, the music/artistic director, and the Salem Community Orchestra on June 22, 2025.

The Bingham Arts Series is underwritten by the Thad and Mary Bingham Community Fund of the Shallow Ford Foundation. It reflects the foundation’s and donors’ desire for philanthropy to contribute to the Clemmons area’s vibrancy. The Binghams loved the community and set up a fund with the foundation to help it flourish long after their lifetimes.

More details will be available on each event as the dates get closer. For now, mark your calendar and brush off your lawn chair for a fun event with the Fabulous Flashbacks.
