CLEMMONS — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was granted a secured custody order after a juvenile was involved in an assault incident at Clemmons Middle School.
In the early afternoon on Sept. 17, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers were notified of an aggravated assault. During the investigation, deputies learned a student had purposely struck another student in the head with a laptop computer, causing injury.
Sheriff’s Office personnel contacted the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice seeking a secure custody order. An order was granted for one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The juvenile suspect was transported and is now in the care of a juvenile detention center.
“This type of conduct will not be tolerated nor accepted by any means and will be prosecuted to the fullest,” Chief Deputy Henry Gray said. “As always, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is fully committed to fostering a safe and conducive learning environment for students, faculty and staff.”
