Lewisville FD battles blaze

LEWISVILLE — The Lewisville Fire Department extinguished a house fire last week. Thankfully, no one was hurt as a result of the blaze.

According a press release from Forsyth County, on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 3:18 p.m., the Lewisville Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 6893 Styers Ferry Road in the Clemmons community of unincorporated Forsyth County.

The release indicated that the first units arrived at the scene at 3:28 p.m. to find a “one-story house with heavy smoke showing” from the roof. Fire personnel from the Lewisville Fire Department and several assisting departments were able to bring the fire under control at 3:41 p.m.

Approximately 27 firefighters reportedly responded to the scene. Units from the Vienna Fire Department, the Clemmons Fire Department and Forsyth County Emergency Services-Fire and EMS Division assisted the Lewisville Fire Department. While the house sustained “considerable” damage, no firefighters or civilians were injured in the fire, and the house sustained considerable damage.

According to the release, the fire’s cause was accidental and resulted from an electrical short.
