Tivis Vincent Wooten
CLEMMONS — Tivis Vincent Wooten, 83, died On July 13, 2018. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Welcome. Family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.
Ronald Eugene Walker
LEWISVILLE — Mr. Ronald Eugene Walker, 73, of Lewisville, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 27, 1944, in Forsyth County to James and Mattie Cook Walker. Mr. Walker served in the United States Navy and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and later retired from Wake Forest University Baptist Health as a respiratory therapist. He was an avid fisherman and wood turner. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Walker. Surviving are his wife, June Walker; two sons, Todd Walker and wife Mary, Tony Walker and wife Andrea; two grandchildren, Savannah Walker, Bryson Walker; one great-grandson, Jaquez Mohammed; one sister, Alice Ward. The family received friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Mildred Ila Baity Scott
Winston-Salem- Mrs. Mildred Ila Baity Scott, 94, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. Mildred was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Davie County to Edward William Baity and Flora Bell Gregory Baity. She moved to Forsyth County with her parents at an early age. Mildred was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was the oldest member in the church. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Women, an assistant Sunday school teacher for the Senior Class, was the soup maker for the church and always participated in the chicken pie making. A member of the 1942 graduating class at Clemmons High School, she was a 4-H leader for several years, a member of the Bethel Extension Homemakers Club and was an Avon representative for 19 years. She was a loving person, who loved her family, her church family and enjoyed reading and lap quilting. She stayed active as long as her health permitted her. Mildred lost her husband of 67 years, Luther Sylvester Scott, in 2010 and her daughter, Janet Kay Scott McAllister in 2014. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, a half-brother, Calvin Baity, a brother, Wade Baity and wife, Dorothy and three sisters, Vatra Trantham, Cleo Everidge and Hazel Stevenson. Survivors include her son, Ronald Edward Scott (Linda) of Winston-Salem, her grandchildren, Tammy McAllister of Lewisville, Teresa Hughes (Chris) of Raleigh, Jeff McAllister of Lewisville, Jody Scott Jenkins of Winston-Salem and Kelly Scott Hayes (Scott) of Winston-Salem; her great grandchildren, Savannah Jenkins, Chloe Jenkins, Jada Jenkins, Christina McAllister, Nicholas McAllister, Taylor Floyd, John Norman Hughes and Grayson Hughes, step-great grandchildren, Dylan Floyd and Conner Hayes, a niece, Elaine Norman (Arlis), a great niece, Becky Lewis (Jack), a great nephew, Lee Pegram (Debbie) and several great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Tanico officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
