The Lewisville Civic Club hosted the Piedmont Flyers Bicycle Club at their membership meeting, held at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center on Nov. 21.
President Andrew Mason and other board members of the PFBC presented proceeds of the event to Melony Brown, the director of the Lewisville Community Assistance Program (LCAP), a check in the amount of $5,000, from the October charity bicycle event. In addition, earlier this month, the PFBC also provided a check in the amount of $5,000 to the Ashe County Advantage Project to assist in Hurricane Helene relief.
In addition to the PFBC’s donation to LCAP, President Jon Beeler of the Lewisville Civic Club, whose members also assisted in the cycling event, presented Brown with a check for $2,500 to assist LCAP in their charity work. Brown thanked the PFBC and Lewisville Civic Club for their donations and noted that this year so far, LCAP has assisted 67 families, helped with housing, and provided power for 19 families as well as distributing food monthly to those in need.
Following the donations to LCAP, Beeler provided a donation from the Lewisville Civic Club to Samaritan’s Purse in the amount of $8,500 to assist in Hurricane Helen’s relief.
