Crisis Control Ministry is seeing a dramatic increase in the need for assistance with housing and utilities.
“As the weather is getting colder, people are in need of fuel oil and natural gas,” said Trish Bennett-Sluss, assistant director of client services. “We are also seeing an increase in the need for assistance with rent. It is important to us to keep people in their homes, especially when it is so very cold outside.”
Last year, Crisis Control Ministry provided $207,567 of utility assistance and $762,823 of assistance with rent and mortgage payments. Giving now to support Crisis Control Ministry’s Share the Warmth campaign is a wonderful opportunity to increase your impact. Donations given now will be matched up to $50,000.
“I am grateful to all who support our Share the Warmth campaign and help us keep residents comfortable in their homes during these extremely cold days,” Executive Director Margaret Elliott said.
Last year, Crisis Control Ministry helped nearly 4000 neighbors in Forsyth and Stokes Counties with housing and/or utility bills.
