Closings and delays:

  • The Village Point Lake Greenway Pier is currently closed. Fishing along the banks will be allowed temporarily.

Christmas tree collection: 

  • Weather permitting, the village of Clemmons will pick up Christmas trees that have been placed at the edge of residents’ yards beginning Jan. 13 for areas west of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive, and starting Jan. 21 for areas east of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive.

Events:

  • The fourth annual Village of Clemmons Lego Contest kicks off this week. Entries can be dropped off Jan. 24, 4-6 p.m. and Jan. 25, 10 a.m.-noon.
  • February is Neighbors Helping Neighbors month in the village of Clemmons. During this month we focus on partnering with our local businesses, organizations and community members to collect food items and funds for the Clemmons Food Pantry. More information on how you can help coming soon. If you are a business or organization and would like to host a coin collection jar for February, please email lfox@clemmons.org.

Farmers market: 

  • Applications for the 2025 Clemmons Farmers Market season will be available the beginning of January. An information session for anyone interested in becoming a vendor will take place on Jan. 25 at 9 a.m. This is not a mandatory session, but a chance to ask questions and go over the guidelines.

Employment:

  • The village of Clemmons currently has job opportunities available. Find out more at clemmons.org/jobs. Current openings include public works equipment operator and facilities and landscape technician.

Meetings:

  • The regularly scheduled council meeting will be held on Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers of village hall, located at 3715 Clemmons Road, Clemmons.

Public works:

  • The last leaf collection of the season will begin on Jan. 27 (weather permitting). This will be the last pass through the village until the fall. Any updates will be posted on the website at clemmons.org/leaves. It is not possible to specify an exact day of the week for pickup due to volume and weather.
  • To assist with additional waste, recycling, and cardboard, Clemmons’ citizens are invited to bring their excess to the Public Works facility between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays).

Stormwater:

  • Staff will be completing drainage outfall inspections throughout the village of Clemmons as part of the NC Department of Environmental Quality’s NPDES Phase II permit throughout the months of December – April 2025 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weather depending). Activities may include visual observations, photography, creek walking and water quality sampling, primarily at drainage pipe outlets into ditches and water bodies. All stormwater personnel will be wearing reflective vests, driving marked vehicles, and carrying identification.
