Children’s story times:
Children’s Story times: Join us for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers (18 months to 3 years), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5).
Adult programs:
What Is Dementia?: Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. for a community training session on dementia. Presented by the NC Geriatric & Adult Mental Health Specialty Team.
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title. Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be on Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. with a discussion of Camino Island by John Grisham.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and we’ll make a copy for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call 703-2920 if you have questions. It will last about one hour. Our next meeting is on Wed., Oct. 10, in the auditorium, 3554 Clemmons Road and will feature fall foods. Free fellowship meal
A free fellowship meal will be served at Centenary United Methodist Church of Clemmons, 5280 Hampton Road, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at noon. Following the lunch there will be a time for working on crafts. You are encouraged to bring a project to work on or to teach others, or to stay and learn a new craft. All are invited.

Fall bazaar and yard sale
Clemmons United Methodist Church will be having a fall bazaar and churchwide yard sale on Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clemmons Presbyterian hosting afternoon Grief Share program
Clemmons Presbyterian Church is hosting a Grief Share series on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the church parlor, from Sept. 9 to Dec. 9. Grief Share is a Biblical, Christ-centered teaching on grief topics associated with the loss of a loved one. This is a 13-week program, but each session is standalone — interested parties will benefit from each meeting even if unable to attend all of the sessions. The meeting consists of a video, discussion and a personal workbook. This is a warm, caring environment and one that you may come to see as an oasis on the long journey through your grief. Confidentiality is an utmost concern. These groups are encouraging and supportive. No registration is necessary. The workbooks are $15. Child care is available. GriefShare program at Clemmons UMC
Clemmons United Methodist Church will have a series of GriefShare, a grief support group every Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Ministry Center. Forsyth County Republican Women to meet
The Forsyth County Republican Women will hold its September meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Providence Restaurant at 5790 University Parkway in Winston-Salem. An optional meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. for $15. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The speakers will be candidates for local office — Eric Henderson and Reggie Reid. Suicide prevention workshop
A Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop will be held Friday, Sept. 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the VFW Post 9010 at 4675 Hampton Road in Clemmons. It is sponsored by the VFW Post 9010 Auxiliary and will be led by Leslie Mulligan of the NC Vet Center.
Good Neighbor Port-a-Pit Barbecue
Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Advance will be having its annual Good Neighbor Port-a-Pit Barbecue on Friday, Sept., 28, at the church, located at 321 Redland Road in Advance, beside Nature’s Way on 801 S. and Steelman’s Ace Hardware on Hwy. 158. Pre-sold lunch orders may be picked up between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Family Life Center at the church. The 801 site will be open from 11 a.m. until sold out with sandwiches, plates and by the pound. Barbecue sandwiches are available beginning at 11 a.m. at Ace Hardware on Hwy. 158. Free delivery is available for orders of four or more. Supper is from 4–7 p.m. at the church. Plates will include ½ port-a-pit chicken or barbecue, slaw, baked beans, roll and dessert. The cost for lunch or dinner will be a donation of $10 per plate, $5 per sandwich or $15 per pound (includes barbecue with four buns and pint of slaw). Proceeds from this barbecue assist people in our community. Please come out and enjoy great food and support a worthwhile cause.
West Forsyth Class of 1983 reunion
The West Forsyth Class of 1983 is holding a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Village Square Tap House starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person prior to Sept. 30 and $25 per person after. Lewisville Recycle Committee meeting date change
The Lewisville Recycling Committee has changed its regular meeting date from Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. The regular agenda will be followed.

The Clemmons Kiwanis Club meets at the Trinity Elms Health & Rehab facility at 7449 Fair Oaks Dr. in Clemmons. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Meeting lasts one hour. Call 703- 2921 for any other information.
Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Lewisville American Legion Post 522
Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville. The Clemmons Food Pantry, now located at 2585 Old Glory Road, Suite 109, Clemmons, is open Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. People may receive services or drop off donations at these times. www.clemmonsfoodpantry.org
