Couriering the area this week in 1995 – The Village of Clemmons took time to say thank you to those state legislators who represent this area in the General Assembly with a luncheon. Marine Pfc. Patrick R. McBride, son of Terri L. McBride of Lewisville, completed Small Arms Repair Course at the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

Scarlett Drew McKnight, of Lewisville, was a recipient of a scholarship from the North Carolina Bar Association.

A group of investors bought the 300-acre Bahnson farm known as the eastern gateway to Davie County. Three men were the primary investors in the Hillsdale Group, the purchasing company. They included William A. Burnette, Thad J. Bingham and John Talbert, Jr.

Robert F. Martin joined Piedmont Federal as assistant vice president in the mortgage loan department.

The West Forsyth girls cross country team continued to roll with wins over Mt. Tabor and South Stokes in the conference meet.

Randy Hayes, of Clemmons, was named supervisor for the Accounting Services Department of Cannon & Company, LLP, certified public accountants.

West Forsyth tennis players Maggie Meginnis, Amy Church and Nameeta Penkar all qualified for regional competition in the Central Piedmont Conference tennis tournament.

Four area residents were promoted at Wachovia. Bonnie L. Tabb and Larry A. Tesh, both of Clemmons, were elected operations officers of Wachovia Operational Services Corporation in Winston-Salem. J. Stanley Scott and R. Alan Proctor, both of Lewisville, were elected vice-presidents at Wachovia in Winston-Salem.
