Marci Gallman has never been afraid to try new things. Growing up in Mooresville, she discovered from a young age that her passion for dance (jazz, tap, and ballet) would take her places. She was embraced for her talents at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

“When I was 18 years old, I was at a dance competition and recognized by Opryland. I didn’t realize that they were there scouting for dancers,” explains Gallman. She proceeded to dance professionally for many years. She worked on a cruise ship and even opened at the Alabama Theater. While at the Alabama Theater, Gallman attended Coastal Carolina University. Nothing about Gallman’s illustrious dancing career was dull, including shows in Shanghai, China, and working for a Las Vegas dance company.

After many years sharing her talents, Gallman decided to change her professional direction. She had always had a love for politics and history and decided to give news reporting a go. Gallman enjoyed the change of pace that it provided.

While Gallman enjoyed her new career, she decided to build on it with a career in pharmaceutical sales. It would prove to be more than a career change. She met her husband while working in the field, and the two began a family. They had both a son and daughter together. Gallman’s new husband also had a daughter. Days for the Gallman’s revolved around their children’s activities and interests.

“Starting our family is what brought us to this area,” reflects Gallman. “It’s a great place to raise a family.” Gallman has also immersed herself in service in the community. “I always say God, family, and community,” about her passions. Gallman was on the Parks and Recreation board as chairman and a member for six years. “I was encouraged to run for the Lewisville Council,” notes Gallman. She is finishing up her term as a councilwoman for Lewisville and has really enjoyed working within her community. “I feel that it’s important to give back,” says Gallman. “I want my kids to understand the importance of giving back too.”

Gallman’s willingness to serve, try new things, and discover new paths have led her exactly to the forks in the road meant for her. As Albert Einstein appropriately noted, “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” Our neighbor has never feared the unknown, and has embraced the new opportunities put in front of her.
