Colleen Peoples Creasy

Mrs. Colleen Peoples Creasy passed away peacefully October 6, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home following a long and courageous battle with bladder cancer. Colleen was born September 21, 1937 in Davie County. The daughter of the late John Stacy and Mavis Gobble Peoples, Colleen attended Clemmons High School and graduated from The American School and Draughn’s Business College. She worked for a time for Hanes Hosiery and for NC Baptist Hospital. For most of her life, Colleen devoted herself to the home and to raising her two children. She attended Clemmons First Baptist Church. Her Dorcas Sunday School class and friends there held a special place in her heart. For several years she enjoyed crafting quilts with her mother. Colleen enjoyed trips to the beach, the mountains and most of all to the family cabin at High Rock Lake. Colleen liked baseball, basketball, and was a loyal Tar Heels fan. But above all else, she loved her family and friends. Colleen is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William “Bill” Creasy of the home. She is also survived by her children, Ronny Creasy of Raleigh, and Cindy Barkley and husband Bruce of Charlotte. She leaves behind her cherished granddaughters Meredith Barkley of Rock Hill, SC, and Kathleen Barkley of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving Colleen are her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Diane Peoples, of Harmony, NC. Nephews, Andy Peoples of Barnardsville and Jack Creasy (Gretchel) of Union Grove, whom she regarded as second sons, also survive her. Colleen leaves behind sisters- and brothers-in-law Nanette Spainhour (Richard) of Clemmons, Paula Gaba (Jim) of Aurora, CO, Julia Reed of Elkin and Bing Creasy (Brenda) of Cary. Other survivors include many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved. Colleen and her family are especially thankful for the selflessness, compassion, and love from a very special cousin, Sandra Gobble. She eased their burden during this difficult time. Also to be thanked are her many friends, church, and family members, who brought food, fellowship, understanding and love. Hospice provided many services and much compassion and care to Colleen towards the end of her illness. She requested that memorials be made to Clemmons Food Pantry, 2585 Old Glory Road, Clemmons, NC 27012 or to the donor’s choice. A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:30 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Robby Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm – 2:15 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, NC. Charles D. Parker

Nov. 4, 1939 – Sept. 23, 2015

Mr. Charles D. Parker, 75, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a period of declining health. He was born on November 4, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Henry Bonson Parker and Grace Durham Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Carol Renegar Parker. Charles graduated from Southwest High School in Clemmons and attended Guilford College. He was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service after almost 40 years of service, and was a recipient of the Million Mile Driving Award. He had many interests, his children, travel, fishing, gardening, and square dancing. Charles was a longtime, faithful and active member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church serving as teacher and on various committees including Boy Scouts, and Cub Scout Cubmaster. Surviving are his loving wife, Dorothy Jones Parker of 56 years; his three sons, Steve Parker and wife Edie of La Quinta, California; Scott Parker of Sydney, Australia; Michael Parker and wife Emily of Charlotte, North Carolina. Other survivors include sister, Barbara Lawson and husband Terry Lawson; and sister, Shirley Griffin; brothers, Bobby Parker and wife, Angela; and Harold Parker; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church on Jonestown Road in Winston-Salem with the Rev. Marilyn L. Weiler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm 8:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Michael Kevin Beauchamp

1/4/1967 – 10/2/2015

Mr. Michael Kevin Beauchamp, age 48, passed away on Friday morning, October 2nd, 2015 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1967 in Winston-Salem, NC to Mike and Miriam Beauchamp. Kevin was a faithful member of Sharon United Methodist Church and was the Chief Financial Officer at Center Point Human Services. Kevin graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1985 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating in 1989. He later became a Certified Public Accountant. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family and days on the lake fishing and boating. He was a Tarheel through and through and loved cooking and grilling. Kevin was preceded in death by grandparents John and Sallie Beauchamp and Dennis and Elma Brewer. He is survived by his loving wife Julie McLamb Beauchamp, son Parker, his mom and dad, Mike and Miriam, and brother William (Adrienne); along with several in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville, NC on Saturday, October 3rd. A memorial service for Kevin will be held on Sunday, October 4th at 3:00 PM at Sharon United Methodist Church, 5330 Sharon Church Road, Lewisville NC 27023. Barbara Ann Mullman Kinney

May 21, 1935 – Sept. 25, 2015

Mrs. Barbara Ann Mullman Kinney, died on September 25, 2015 at 80 years of age. Her husband, Richard Egan Kinney was at her side. She was a loving wife, ever thoughtful and accommodating to all of her family, kind, compassionate and friendly toward all she met. A loving wife, no one has ever had a better mother, sister or friend. Born in Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Benedict Mullman. She is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s Commercial High School in Brooklyn, New York. She was employed in the legal department of the Royal Globe Insurance Company in Garden City, Long Island New York for several years prior to marrying Richard in October of 1957. Following her marriage, she devoted her entire life to the care of her husband and seven children; she provided great strength and encouragement to her beautiful family. Barbara set an excellent example for all of her children and ensuring that they received a full Catholic education. She is survived by her husband, Richard, their seven children and spouses, Patricia Kinney and Geoffrey M. Ross, Jeanne Kinney Villahermosa, Katherine Kinney and Randall Galyon, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Paul and Shari Kinney of Harrisburg, North Carolina, James and Sharon Kinney, and Ann Kinney and Kevin O. Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia, David and Monica Kinney of Haddonfield, New Jersey, 18 grandchildren, her sisters, Pauline Cooper, Bernice Roe and her brother Raymond Mullman. She was preceded in death by her sisters Kathryn Mullane and Theresa Mullman. Strong in her Catholic faith, Mrs. Kinney was a devoted member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for over 25 years prior to joining Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons where she frequently attended daily Mass. Sara Aycock Bruce

Nov. 30, 1930 – Sept. 25, 2015

Sara Aycock Bruce, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away on September 25, 2015. She was born November 30, 1930 to the late Joseph and Eunice Williams Aycock in Hickory, Mississippi. She met and married Richard H. Bruce (Dick) in 1953 while he was stationed in the Coast Guard at Mobile, Alabama. After receiving his degree from the University of Alabama, they traveled with his work to Wisconsin, Tennessee, Ohio (twice), and New Jersey. Then they settled in Hickory North Carolina for nine years before living in Charlotte and lastly Lewisville to be closer to their daughter Mindy. Sara was a true Christian and was very active in her churches – First Methodist Church, Hickory; Sharon Methodist, Charlotte; and Sharon Methodist, Lewisville. She was an active Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher, hospital volunteer and enjoyed many hobbies particularly knitting and painting. Sara also participated in the NC Hunter Jumper Association, as she and Dick also loved showing horses with their daughter Beth. Sara’s love and appreciation for family and friends were the delight and passion of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick and daughter Beth Bruce Stiles. She is survived by her daughter Mindy (David) and her grandsons Adam (Parks) and Eric. Her brother Marion Aycock survives her in Battle Creek Michigan. She also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews. Sara’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 AM at Sharon UMC, 5330 Sharon Church Road, Lewisville, NC. Friends and family are invited to visit immediately after in the commons area of the church.
