Give A Kid A Coat, a campaign that solicits coat donations from area residents in order to provide coats to needy children and adults during the winter is off to a good start. Due to inclement weather for kickoff, the coat count was slightly behind last year after kickoff, but increased steadily the during the first week. As in past years, The Salvation Army in the Triad needs around 25,000 coats to meet the needs of children in our area.
“One thing we can always count on in winter is a cold snap. Some years are worse than others and there is no way to know how bad they will be this year,” says Van Denton with WGHP/Fox8. “Still, we know we will have them and everyone is going to need a coat. Please help us again with this great campaign.”
Triad Salvation Army locations are gearing up to begin distribution. For distribution information in your area, check the A Cleaner World, Fox8, or 1075KZL websites.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, WGHP/Fox8,1075KZL, Rock92, and The Salvation Army. This year, AAA Storage is welcomed back as the TV media partner. The 2020 campaign ends on Saturday, Feb. 8. For additional information, contact Dianne Berberich at 336-841-4188.
