Howard Adams

Mr. Howard Adams, 96, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Yadkin County on Dec. 15, 1923, to the late Jones Thomas and Jettie Moxley Adams. Adams was a member of Woodland Baptist Church for 64 years where he sang in the choir and worked in the bus ministry. He retired from Bankers Life and Casualty and loved watching the Atlanta Braves and golfing. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Dorothy Moxley Adams; son, Danny Adams; sister, Marie Wagoner and a grandson, Michael Blevins. Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Lorraine Adams; three children, Mike Blevins (Becky), Barry Blevins, and Anita Kearns; six grandchildren, Daniel Adams (Melody), Ross Adams, Jill Moss, Christopher Blevins, Pepper Berry (John), and Melissa Arnold (Daniel); 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jolene Sheek and Colene Matthews; daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Adams; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at noon on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons, Pastor Vic Pyles, and Jimmy Crawford officiating. Burial followed at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. Marceleen Cook Bodsford

Marceleen Cook Bodsford passed away Feb. 20, 2020, peacefully at the age of 88. She was born April 21, 1931, to Andrew Sanford Cook and Lois York Cook. She was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and a 1949 graduate of Clemmons High School. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Andrew Bodsford; sister, Alva Hutchens and brother, Fred Cook. She is survived by her sister, Reva Groce (Clarence) of Clemmons; sons, K. Andrew Bodsford (Liz) of Nashville, Tennessee; Mark S. Bodsford (Jennifer) of Concord; daughter, Martha Naylor (Terry) of Mocksville; six grandchildren, Jenni Luk (James), Amy Rose (Laurel), Rachel Stamps (Thomas), Matthew Bodsford, Aaron Naylor (Erin) and April Crotts (Joseph); seven great-grandchildren whom she referred to as her “little bits,” Violet, Ceclia and Cameron Luk, Colton and Katie Naylor, Lucas and Holden Crotts. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Hayworth Miller Kinderton Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Pine Grove UMC, Jonestown Road in Winston-Salem. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver, Bonnie Kinder, for all her love and care given to their mother, Somerset Court of Mocksville and Trellis Supportive Care staff. Jennie Pardue Cornatzer

Mrs. Jennie Pardue Cornatzer, 73, of Clemmons, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, at her home. She was born Nov. 21, 1946, in Surry County to James Allen and Ruth Hayes Pardue. Cornatzer was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church and retired in 2006 from the N.C. Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services with 28 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Cornatzer; two sons, Jon W. Cornatzer (Tamara) of Clemmons and Jason T. Cornatzer (Rebecca) of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kiera, Kai, Jake, Liliana, and Lucas; three sisters, Nancy Lutz Jackson, Glenda P. McDaniel and Renee P. Thomas. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Phillips and Rev. James ‘Ron’ Ronald Padgett

Mr. James “Ron” Ronald Padgett, 76, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2020. He was born on Dec. 8, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, to James Thomas Padgett and Katherine Thompson Padgett. Ron was a member of Olivet Moravian Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Pamela A. Padgett; children, Brian Padgett (Eryn White), Tim Padgett, and Erin Padgett; and sister, Barbara Black. The family will hold private services at a later date.
