WINSTON-SALEM — On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Crisis Control Ministry will host its 30th annual “Hope du Jour” fundraiser, benefiting its programs and services provided to families throughout Forsyth County and Stokes County.

Restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops in Winston-Salem, Kernersville and throughout Forsyth County will come together to support Crisis Control Ministry by donating a percentage of their proceeds from the entire day to the organization.

More than 130 area restaurants participate in Hope du Jour each year, making it convenient for diners anywhere in the area to find a spot to eat to support the work done by Crisis Control Ministry.

“Hope du Jour is all about community,” said Margaret Elliott, executive director of Crisis Control Ministry. “This year, by dining out for Hope du Jour, you aren’t just supporting Crisis Control Ministry; you are also supporting local restaurants that have been impacted by COVID-19.”

Plaza Restaurant of Kernersville is one of the many restaurants that have been participating in Hope du Jour for more than 20 years. Owner Stephen Kroustalis said, “I do not wish to live in the type of world where we do not look out for each other. We never know what the future brings, but having an organization like Crisis Control in the community is of paramount importance. We are grateful to be able to do our small part in helping Crisis Control each year.”
