Billy Eugene Fink

Mr. Billy Eugene Fink, 84, of Clemmons, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020. Fink was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Charleston, W.V., to Willis and Goldie Fink. He retired with more than 39 years of service with Lucent Technologies. In his free time, Fink loved to play golf and go fishing. He was a member of Yadkin Valley Seniors Golf Association. A devoted family man, Fink loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a warm and friendly person who never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, Fink was preceded in death by his brother, John Fink.
Fink is survived by his wife, Frances Fink; children, Diane Rowell (Maxie) and Brian Fink (Dawn); grandchildren, Bradley Wright (Andrea) and Kaitlin Fink; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Wright, Bradley Wright Jr., and Alexa Wright; and sister, Genevieve Kessinger.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Brighton Gardens and Hospice for their wonderful care of Fink. Nick Spero Kroustalis

Mr. Nick Spero Kroustalis, 87, of Bermuda Run, passed peacefully away at his home on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020. Kroustalis was born on July 7, 1933, in Forsyth County. He was the son of the late Speros and Vasiliki Psimadis Kroustalis. Kroustalis graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School where he played on the state championship winning football team in 1952 where he compiled 10 passes, 10 completions and 10 touchdowns. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. When he returned home, he joined his brother in running The Sanitary Restaurant until 1969 when he opened the original Carriage House restaurant in Winston-Salem. While running The Carriage House he mentored many future restaurateurs in the local area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and John Kroustalis. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 54 years, Katina Kroustalis of the home; children, Spiro Kroustalis (Georgia) of Clemmons, Faye Kroustalis (Dave Curry) of Seattle, Washington, and Stan Kroustalis (Anitra) of Lewisville; grandchildren, Nick Kroustalis and John Kroustalis.He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Tom Hamberis (Stephanie) of Winston-Salem; and his sisters-in-law, Rose Kroustalis and Lillian Kroustalis. He left behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kroustalis was a selfless father who had the most generous heart. He adored his relationships with his family and friends. His love of Jesus Christ was of utmost importance to him. He read and studied the Bible throughout his life and did his best to live a humble life that showed kindness and love. He will be remembered for never meeting a stranger and always knowing how to make everyone he met feel special. The family will miss his love of cooking and him driving his little black truck around town. A graveside service was held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, officiated by Father George Kouzelis and Father Constantine Shepherd at Forsyth Memorial Park with full military honors. Muriel Beverly Luongo

Mrs. Muriel Beverly Luongo, 73, of Clemmons, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2020. She was born Oct. 10, 1946, to Douglas and Muriel Woolley Smerdon. Luongo’s kindness, caring nature, positive word and infectious smile defined her life. She would always find the good in all she met. In 1978, she moved from Boston to Clemmons with her husband and daughter and happily called Clemmons home for the next 42 years. Luongo loved working with children and spent 20 years at Clemmons Moravian Preschool nurturing, teaching and developing young minds. She loved pets and would always have several dogs and cats around her to spoil and provide a happy home. Luongo loved reading, traveling and swimming. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Luongo; one daughter, Erica Luongo Taylor (Alex) and one grandson, Sean Taylor. A private family graveside service will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Charles ‘Charlie’ Hugh Risner

Charles “Charlie” Hugh Risner passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020. He was born in Quantico, Virginia, on June 22, 1946, to Albert H. Risner and Martha A. Risner. Risner leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Susan T. Risner, daughter, Susan Amelia Risner-Butera (Scott), son Eric M. Risner, son Jonathan T. Risner (Gretchen) and grandchildren, Lucy, Will, Arno and Ila. He also leaves behind his sister, Judy R. Clift of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and brother, Albert H. Risner Jr. (Terri) of Buford, Georgia. Risner was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and UNC-Greensboro. He was a research chemist at RJ Reynolds. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in High Point for many years. Due to the current pandemic, no formal services will be held at this time. Holland Link Roland

Mr. Holland Link Roland, 56, of Mocksville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1964, in Forsyth County to Holland and Betty Anderson Roland. Surviving is his wife, Lynn Roland; son, Caleb Roland (Morgan) and daughter, Madison Roland (Jerry Cooper); brother, Luke Roland (Rochel) and sister, Scarlett Capps. Roland, lover of life, lover of God, family, Bella Luna (his dog), friends, Thomas Built Bus family and, last but not least, his golf buddies. Roland was a blessing to whomever he came in contact with whether he knew you for five minutes or five years. His calling in life was to lift up and encourage others. He had compassion and love for all people. He could take an angry soul and have them laughing in minutes. He was always the first to apologize or make amends. He was never afraid to admit he was wrong. Roland gave his all to the life God blessed him with.  Making lemonade out of lemons every day. He had a strong everlasting faith that has landed him in the most beautiful peaceful place. His love for his family was precious and unmatched. His spirit lives on through his wife and children and certainly through his first grandchild, Tyler Link Cooper, expected Sept. 7. Margaret Evelyn Clamp Rountree

Margaret Evelyn Clamp Rountree, 96, of Clemmons, passed away at her home Aug. 23, 2020, surrounded by her children.

A native of Newberry, S.C., she was born in 1924 to Ira Lee Clamp and Julia Norris Clamp.

Rountree was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, William H. Rountree Sr., and a brother, Ira L. Clamp Jr.

She was a graduate of Newberry High School and Newberry College. Upon graduation from college, she began her teaching career in Shallotte. After her marriage in 1946, she took her love of educating children to Charleston, S.C. She later taught kindergarten in Winston-Salem.

Rountree loved traveling and cooking but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. She took a special delight in being a “g-mama” to her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was an active church member her whole life, the last 22 years at Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Lewisville.

Survivors include her children Jackie Rountree, Sherri Horton (Mike), William H. Rountree Jr. (Vickie), grandchildren Claire Apple (Derrick), Conor Horton (Crystal), William C. Rountree, Katie Zimmerman (Taylor), Kris Rountree (Heather) and great-grandchildren Amelia Apple, Zachary Apple, Madelynn Horton, Harper Rountree and Will Zimmerman. She is also survived by her brother Jim Clamp (Carolyn) and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside side service will be held with a public celebration of life being held at a later date.

Herbert Eugene Williams

Mr. Herbert Eugene Williams, 79, of Clemmons, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020. He was born in Forsyth County on July 22, 1941, to the late John Roy and Margaret Jeanette Taylor Williams. Williams graduated from Gray High School in 1959 and in 1965, he graduated from Guilford College with a degree in business administration. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Williams retired from Reynolds American with 30 years of dedicated service. He loved baseball and basketball. He enjoyed playing tennis and biking. Williams’ favorite trail to ride his bicycle on was the New River Trail.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia W. Williams; sister-in-law, Helen Baker (Rex) of King; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Francis Smith. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com .
